Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 15, 2026

Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, and Veterans are subject to the same privacy protections and hold the same rights under this policy.

Information from Third Parties

3. ⚠️ OPSEC, PII & Operational Security Warning

⚠️ OPSEC Warning — Read Before Posting

Do NOT share classified or sensitive operational information on this platform.

BattleBuddies is a dating and connection platform — not a secure DoD communications channel. Treat anything you share here as potentially visible to unverified parties or exposable through a security event.

⚠️ PII Warning — Protect Your Personal Information

This platform is not a secure communications system.

BattleBuddies takes reasonable technical and organizational steps to secure your data. However, no internet system is perfectly secure.

4. Geolocation & Location Data

BattleBuddies uses location data to power its distance-based matching feature. When you create or update your profile, you can enter your city or region. We derive approximate location from your IP address when you use the platform. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates. Location matching is calculated at the city/region level, not precise GPS.

📍 Location Warning — Active Duty, Reserves & National Guard

Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members should be aware that location data — even approximate city-level data — can reveal your base assignment, deployment location, or duty station to other users.

Consider the following:

You can opt out of location sharing by leaving the location field blank in your profile settings. Distance matching will not function without a location set, but all other features remain available.

BattleBuddies does not share your location data with third parties for advertising or tracking. Location data is used only to calculate match distances within the platform.

5. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, sell it to data brokers, or use verification documents for any purpose other than confirming military affiliation.

Right to Know

You have the right to request information about the personal data we have collected about you, including:

Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information. We will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law (such as retaining payment records required for tax compliance).

Right to Correct

Under CPRA, you have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

To exercise any of the above rights:

California residents are not the only users with privacy rights. All users — regardless of state — may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by contacting privacy@battlebuddies.com.

10. Security Measures

We take security seriously, especially given our Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Veteran user base.

What We Do

Honest Disclaimer

⚠️ No System Is 100% Secure

No internet platform can guarantee absolute security. Despite our reasonable security measures, data breaches are possible. In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly as required by applicable law.

This is why OPSEC matters: do not share classified, sensitive operational, or highly personal information on this platform — or on any commercial internet platform.

11. Cookies & Tracking

We use a minimal set of cookies and local storage:

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

You can clear cookies through your browser settings, but this will log you out of the platform.

12. Children's Privacy

BattleBuddies is strictly for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover an account belonging to someone under 18, it will be immediately terminated and associated data deleted.

13. International Users

BattleBuddies is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the platform from outside the US — including while deployed overseas — your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from your home country or country of deployment. Active Duty and Reserve Component members stationed or deployed abroad should note that this platform is a U.S. commercial service and not a DoD system.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

15. Contact Us

For privacy questions, requests, or concerns:

We aim to respond to all privacy requests within 30 days. California residents may receive responses up to 45 days as permitted by CCPA/CPRA.
