1. About BattleBuddies

BattleBuddies ("we," "us," or "our") is a privately operated dating and social connection platform exclusively for verified active-duty military members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans. The platform operates at battlebuddies.polsia.app.

BattleBuddies is a private commercial service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by the United States Government, the Department of Defense (DoD), any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), or any other government agency. See Section 22 for the full Government Non-Endorsement disclaimer.

2. Age Requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to use BattleBuddies. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and are legally able to consent to using this service. If you are under 18, you must not use or attempt to use this platform. We reserve the right to terminate any account where we have reason to believe the user is under 18.

3. Eligibility & Military Verification

To use BattleBuddies, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

Family Members Are Not Eligible. BattleBuddies is exclusively for active-duty military members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans. Immediate family members — including spouses, children, parents, and siblings — as well as all other civilians, are not eligible for membership and may not create accounts on this platform. Accounts found to belong to ineligible individuals will be terminated without refund.

Military Verification Methods: We require verification of your military status through one of the following methods:

Reservists and National Guard members are fully eligible and subject to the same verification process. Reserve Component members may verify using their .mil email address or via ID.me.

We reserve the right to request additional proof of service at any time and to revoke access if your military affiliation cannot be verified or is found to be fraudulent or misrepresented.

4. Verification Limits & Disclaimer

⚠️ Verification Is Limited — Not a Guarantee. BattleBuddies employs verification measures including .mil email domain checking and ID.me OAuth integration. However, no verification system is foolproof. Our verification processes can be defeated by fraud, falsified documents, or bad-faith actors using valid credentials belonging to another person.

BattleBuddies cannot guarantee that every user claiming to be a current or former service member, Reservist, or National Guard member is who they say they are. A verified badge indicates that a user passed our available verification steps at the time of registration — it does not constitute an independent certification of military status, rank, unit, or any other personal claim.

Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:

🚨 Romance Scam Warning. Service members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans are frequently targeted by romance scammers who create fake military profiles to build trust and then exploit victims financially. Be vigilant. Signs of a romance scam include: requests for money or gift cards, inability to video chat or meet in person, implausible stories about being deployed and needing financial help, or pressure to move communication off-platform quickly. If someone you matched with asks for money — stop all contact immediately and report them via the in-app reporting feature or to safety@battlebuddies.com. You can also report suspected fraud to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

5. Background Checks & Safety

BattleBuddies does not currently perform criminal background checks on users. Military verification (Section 3) confirms service affiliation only — it is not a criminal history check and does not screen for past convictions, registered sex offenses, restraining orders, or any other legal history.

Verification is NOT a guarantee of safety. Bad actors may have clean records, use false identities, or possess legitimately obtained credentials. Even if background checks are added in the future, such checks are not real-time, may not cover all jurisdictions or offense types, and may miss records due to reporting gaps, delays, expunged records, or fraud.

You accept full responsibility for your own safety when interacting with other users on or off the platform. We strongly recommend:

If we add background check functionality in the future, we will update this section and our Privacy Policy accordingly, including any applicable disclosures under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

6. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must:

You may only create one account. Duplicate accounts are subject to immediate termination. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

7. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

Violations of these conduct standards may result in immediate account termination and referral to appropriate authorities.

8. Military Conduct & Regulatory Compliance

⚠️ BattleBuddies Cannot Give You Legal or Career Advice About Military Relationships. Active-duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), service-branch regulations, DoD directives, National Guard Bureau (NGB) policies, and command-specific policies governing personal relationships. These rules vary by branch, component, rank, and command, and include restrictions on fraternization, relationships between officers and enlisted personnel, instructor-student relationships, and conduct considered "unbecoming." BattleBuddies does not and cannot advise you on whether any specific relationship might violate your applicable regulations. If you have questions, consult your JAG Corps legal assistance office, your chain of command, or a licensed attorney.

By using BattleBuddies, you acknowledge and agree that:

Active-duty service members, Reservists, and National Guard members are encouraged to review their branch-specific and component-specific social media policies (e.g., ALARACT messages, ALNAVS, Air Force Instructions, Army National Guard (ARNG) regulations, Air National Guard (ANG) instructions) before using any dating platform. Reservists and National Guard members should be aware that UCMJ jurisdiction may apply during active orders, inactive duty training, and in certain other circumstances — consult your JAG office for guidance specific to your duty status.

9. No Professional Advice

BattleBuddies is a social connection platform — not a professional services provider. Nothing on this platform constitutes or should be construed as:

Medical or mental health advice — We do not provide therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, or clinical guidance. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact the Veterans Crisis Line: dial 988 then press 1, text 838255, or chat at veteranscrisisline.net.

Legal advice — No content on this platform, including these Terms, constitutes legal advice regarding your specific situation. Consult a licensed attorney or your JAG Corps for legal questions.

Financial advice — We do not provide investment, tax, or financial planning guidance.

Career advice — We do not advise on military promotions, assignments, separations, or any career-related matters.

10. Anti-Catfish, Anti-Fraud & Romance Scam Warning

Zero tolerance for catfishing and fraud. BattleBuddies exists to protect active-duty military members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans from exploitation. Any user found to be impersonating a service member, Reservist, or National Guard member; using fake photos; falsifying military status; or soliciting money will be permanently banned and reported to appropriate authorities.

We employ automated and manual review processes to detect fraudulent profiles. However, as noted in Section 4, no system catches everything — exercise your own judgment and caution.

Romance scams are a serious threat to the military community. Scammers frequently target active-duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans using:

If it feels wrong, it probably is. Use the in-app reporting feature or contact us at safety@battlebuddies.com. You can also report suspected scams to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov.

11. UCMJ Violation Reporting Policy

⚠️ UCMJ Violations Will Be Reported to DoD and Civilian Authorities. Any conduct constituting a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) — including but not limited to assault, sexual misconduct, fraud, conduct unbecoming of a service member, or any other UCMJ offense — will result in immediate account termination and mandatory referral to appropriate Department of Defense (DoD) investigative authorities and/or civilian law enforcement. This policy applies equally to active-duty service members, Reservists, and National Guard members, as UCMJ jurisdiction extends to Reserve Component members under applicable conditions.

BattleBuddies takes its responsibility to the military community seriously. We will not shield any service member, Reservist, National Guard member, or veteran from accountability for UCMJ violations occurring on or facilitated through this platform. All relevant records, communications, and evidence will be preserved and provided to DoD investigators, JAG offices, and military law enforcement as required. Relevant investigative bodies include:

Additionally, we will cooperate with investigations into Stolen Valor Act violations, military impersonation (including impersonation of Reservists and National Guard members), and any form of fraud targeting service members, Reservists, National Guard members, or veterans.

If you witness or are the victim of conduct that may constitute a UCMJ violation or any criminal act, report it immediately via the in-app reporting feature or contact us at safety@battlebuddies.com. In an emergency, contact local law enforcement (911) or military police immediately.

Military Career Risk Warning

⚠️ YOUR MILITARY CAREER CAN BE AFFECTED BY HOW YOU USE THIS PLATFORM. This warning applies equally to Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, and Veterans — including all branches and commands such as the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Army National Guard (ARNG), Air National Guard (ANG), and all Reserve Components.

1. Screenshots & Investigations. Messages, photos, and profile content you share on BattleBuddies can be screenshotted, forwarded, and used as evidence in military disciplinary proceedings, DoD criminal investigations, courts-martial, or civilian criminal prosecutions. Nothing you share on this platform is guaranteed to remain private. Treat every message and every photo as potentially viewable by your chain of command, military investigators (CID, NCIS, OSI, CGIS, NGB investigators, JAG), or a court. This applies equally to Active Duty, Reserve Component, and National Guard members.

2. Criminal & Career-Ending Conduct. Using this platform to pursue, solicit, or engage in relationships involving minors, non-consensual conduct, sexual harassment, or other unlawful behavior is both a crime and a career-ending UCMJ violation. Such conduct will result in: (a) immediate, permanent account termination; (b) mandatory referral to DoD investigative authorities including CID, NCIS, OSI, CGIS, National Guard Bureau (NGB), and JAG Corps; and (c) referral to civilian federal, state, and local law enforcement. All records, communications, and evidence will be preserved and provided to investigators. These consequences apply equally to Active Duty service members, Reservists, and National Guard members.

3. Verify Before You Connect — It's Your Responsibility. You are encouraged to independently verify a match's age, marital status, and rank before pursuing a relationship. Avoid initiating or pursuing relationships that could create a perceived abuse of rank, authority, position, or supervisory power — regardless of whether you believe consent exists. When in doubt, consult your chain of command or JAG Corps legal assistance officer BEFORE engaging, not after. BattleBuddies cannot advise you on whether a specific relationship violates your applicable military regulations.

12. Rank, Branch & Uniform Usage

How Rank & Branch Are Displayed

Rank and branch are user-entered and are NOT independently verified by BattleBuddies. This applies to all components of military service — Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, and Veterans — including all branches and commands such as the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Army National Guard (ARNG), Air National Guard (ANG), and all Reserve Components.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, do not assume that another user's claimed rank, branch, or unit has been independently verified by BattleBuddies. If verification matters to you in a specific context, verify independently through appropriate channels. Rank and branch fields are optional and self-reported.

By entering rank and branch information in your profile, you represent that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Providing false rank or branch information constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.

Personal Expression Disclaimer

Profile content — including rank, unit names, branch insignia, and uniform photos — represents the personal expression of the individual user. It is not an endorsement, sponsorship, authorization, or official communication by:

✗ The United States Government or the Department of Defense (DoD)
✗ The National Guard Bureau (NGB), Army National Guard (ARNG), or Air National Guard (ANG)
✗ Any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces or Reserve Component (Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve)
✗ Any military command, unit, or installation

Active Duty members, Reservists, National Guard members, and Veterans have equal rights and responsibilities regarding rank display and uniform usage on this platform. These provisions apply uniformly across all components.

Impersonation Prohibition

⛔ Impersonating military personnel, units, or commands is grounds for immediate, permanent account termination. The following are strictly prohibited:

These violations fall under and are subject to our existing Stolen Valor and military impersonation rules (see Section 7 — User Conduct, and Section 11 — UCMJ Violation Reporting Policy). Confirmed cases of fraudulent military impersonation may be referred to law enforcement under the Stolen Valor Act (18 U.S.C. § 704) and other applicable federal statutes.

Uniform Photos — OPSEC Guidance

You may upload photos in uniform, but be aware of operational security (OPSEC) risks. Uniform photographs can inadvertently reveal sensitive information, including:

BattleBuddies recommends cropping or blurring unit patches, name tapes, and any location-identifying background elements before uploading photos in uniform — particularly for Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members who are currently serving.

⚠️ BattleBuddies reserves the right to remove photos that pose apparent OPSEC risks, at our sole discretion and without prior notice to the user. This includes photos with clearly visible unit identifiers, tactical gear configurations, or location-revealing backgrounds. We may contact you after removal with guidance on resubmission.

13. Service Availability — As-Is / As-Available

BattleBuddies is provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we expressly disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant or represent that:

No guarantee of matches or compatibility. BattleBuddies is a platform for meeting potential connections — we make no guarantee that you will find a match, form a relationship, or achieve any particular outcome from using the service. Use this platform at your own risk.

No liability for user conduct. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether on or off the platform. Any meeting, interaction, or relationship formed through BattleBuddies is entirely at your own risk.

14. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, messages, profile information). By uploading content, you grant BattleBuddies a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.

We do not sell or license your personal photos or profile content to third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.

If the dispute is not resolved informally, it shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

Class Action Waiver. You agree to resolve disputes with BattleBuddies on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits, class-wide arbitrations, or any other representative proceedings. You may not consolidate your claims with those of any other person.

21. Governing Law & Venue

If you are located outside the United States, you acknowledge that your use of the platform is subject to U.S. law, and you are responsible for compliance with your local laws to the extent they are applicable.
